You can instantly change the appearance of your website by installing a different skin. All of the databases under the
Design section can be saved into a skin or installed from a skin. These databases control the look and style of your site.
You can create a skin using the menu buttons under the Design section. Once you have the Border And Margins, Colors, Fonts, Backgrounds, and Images the way you want them, Select the
Skins button again from the menu and click
Save Current Skin. You can then select the databases to save into the skin. Give your skin a name and click save. You will then see a list of files saved into the skin.
When a skin is saved, it is saved to a secure
skins folder on your hosting account's server. When a skin is uploaded, it is also saved into this same folder.
To download a skin file to your computer, click the
Download A Skin button, select a skin, and click
Download Skin. Do not try to open a skin file that you have downloaded to your computer, as this could possibly corrupt the skin.
To upload a skin, click the
Upload A Skin button and then click the
Browse button to select a skin file on you computer. Then click
Upload Skin Now. When the skin is uploaded, the program performs a security check. It checks that the skin contains only files that are allowed in a skinAsite skin file.
It does not check the contents of the databases or image files. So it is still possible to upload a skin that does not function correctly (if someone has tampered with the skin file). It will not however pose any kind of a security risk if you install a skin that has been tampered with, and you can easily correct any problems by installing another skin or reverting back to your current skin (see next paragraph).
Before installing a new skin, it is recommended to save your website's current skin. You can then revert back to it (install it again), if you install a new skin that does not function properly.
To install a new skin, click the
Install A Skin button. Select a skin (the skins shown in the drop down box are stored in the skins folder on the server), then click
Install. You will then see a Confirm page with a list of databases that are contained in the skin. Check the databases that you want to install from the skin. Any database that you check will overwrite your website's current Design databases. Click
Install Skin Now.
The skin will then be installed and you will see a page that displays all the files that were installed from the skin.
To see changes on your website, go to you Entrance or Home Page, hold your Ctrl key down, and click your Refresh button. See
