How to use the Content Databases

This information applies to the the following database: Home Page News, Latest News, Jukebox, Projects, Lyrics, Schedule, Photo Gallery, Journal, Review Links, Links, Downloads, Store, Additional Images, and Additional Files.

For the databases that have Categories, first enter or edit the categories by clicking Edit Categories. You can use the default categories, remove or change them, or add more categories. The categories will appear on the website in the same order that they are entered into the list.

To add a new record, Click Add New. Enter the information and then click Add To Database. (For databases that have categories, a new record must be assigned to a category when it is added to the database. If it is not, it will not display on the website. You can also change the category that a record is in by editing the record.) As soon as the record is added to the database, the information will appear on your website.

To edit a record, first click View All to display all the records, or click Search to find a record. (For databases that have categories, you can view just the records in a category by clicking View / Select Category.) After the results display, select the record you want to edit in the Edit column, then click the Edit button. Make any changes and then click Save Changes

To delete a record, first click View All to display all the records, or click Search to find a record. (For databases that have categories, you can view just the records in a category by clicking View / Select Category.) After the results display, select the record (or records) you want to delete by putting a check in the Delete column, then click the Delete button. You will then see a Confirm Delete page. Click Delete Now to delete the record(s).

The Sort Order is the order in which the record will display on your website. Enter a number starting at 1. You can even enter decimals like 1, 1.2, 1.3, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. This is handy if you want to add a record in between two other records (like 1 and 2 in this example). The record with the lowest Sort Order number will display first on your website. The highest number will display last.

The Schedule database is sorted by the date of the event. The Journal is sorted by the date of the journal entry. The Review Links and Links databases sort alphabetically.

For databases that have Categories, in order to see the correct sorting order, first select a category by clicking View / Select Category.
